Promotion: In-pack Scooby Doo Liquid Crystal Collector Cards - ‘How Scared are you?’

Aim: To increase sales and awareness of Kellogg’s Cinnamon Marshmallow Cereal with the USA.

Solution: 3 million liquid crystal touch sensitive discs were produced in our Chicago plant and stuck automatically onto full-colour laminated collectible trading cards of which there were four to collect.

Depending on the temperature of the consumer’s hand each card changed to one of four colours, each depicting “How scared are you”!

The cards were stuck to the inside of the cereal box where the liquid crystal disc cleverly showed through a die cut hole within the packaging. This enticed the consumer to interact with the package at point of sale by “daring” them to touch the ‘scare meter’.

Comment: When consumers physically interact with a package at point of sale there is a much greater chance they will purchase the package. Our colour changing interactive inks intrigues children, and adults alike, and are particularly effective for promotions such as collector cards.
